| Profile: | Record company established by the Amsterdam record store Boudisque in the early 1980's. Initially, releases were licensed from such labels as K422, Factory, Rough Trade, 4AD and others. Boudisque used the original cat. no's for these releases, but they can be recognized by the number that the pressing plant (CBS Records) used, usually starting with 08- or VR, plus: the labels almost always show "Made in Holland".
For "bigger" releases Megadisc was established, but they soon became fully independent.
In the second half of the 1980's Boudisque started to use the label Torso. Torso was a small record company that was releasing records around 1980 by bands like Mecano and The Rousers, but had been defunct for several years.
Later, the name Torso Dance was also used for the more dance-related releases, and other labels like Go Bang! Records and ESP Records were set up. The record company went bankrupt in 1994, and the labels were bought by Roadrunner Records who continued to release ESP-stuff and re-launched Go Bang! for several releases.
